This stunning painting entitled ‘You Need To’ has been generously created and donated as an auction prize for our event by the artist, Kate Enters. Kate’s painting was inspired by Terry Pratchett’s quote; ‘you have to have really wide reading habits and pay attention to just everything that is going on in the world.. you need to..’
We are sure that this original artwork is going to create a lot of interest on the night but, if you are unable to be there and would still like to bid, please contact us. There are lots of other great auction prizes available on the night, including a two night B&B stay in a Peel Hotel and a week’s accommodation in Umbria, Italy.
Make time for Reading this Easter

Read on Get on, this Easter we want to remind you of the importance of reading for at least 10 minutes a day with children.
On the 9th of April, Read on Get on will be launching a social media campaign, “Where do you read your 10 minutes a day?”, encouraging the public to share pictures of themselves reading with their children, family and friends. They want to see the funniest, quirkiest and most interesting places that you squeeze in your daily 10 minute read!

Bring Literacy to Life at The Reading Matters’ Conference

Bradford Literature Festival
Reading Matters are delighted to be supporting Bradford’s first literature festival which will run in the city from the 15th to the 24th of May. Around 150 different events have been organised, celebrating Bradford’s literary and cultural heritage, including digital storyboarding, a Bronte-themed afternoon tea, Indian poetry and Jewish storytelling. The festival is aiming to boost literacy levels among children and adults, promote cultural diversity, health and wellbeing, and encourage people into the city centre. Tickets are on sale from today.
